Position Summary

The Production Kitting Associate is responsible for accurately preparing, assembling, and staging kits of foam components and related materials to support production and customer orders. This role plays a critical part in ensuring manufacturing efficiency, quality standards, and on?time delivery by providing complete and accurate kits to the production floor.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble production kits according to work orders, bills of materials (BOMs), and customer specifications
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, and materials to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Stage kits for production in designated areas to support workflow and scheduling
  • Handle foam products and related materials with care to prevent damage or contamination
  • Label kits clearly and correctly per internal and customer requirements
  • Communicate shortages, discrepancies, or quality concerns to supervisors or inventory control
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitting and staging area
  • Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures, including PPE requirements
  • Assist with inventory counts, material movement, and general production support as needed
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to efficiency, accuracy, and organization

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, part numbers, and production documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast?paced manufacturing environment
  • Basic math skills for counting and verification
  • Dependable, punctual, and team?oriented

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, kitting, assembly, or warehouse operations
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S practices
  • Experience working with foam products or custom manufacturing environments

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to [insert weight, e.g., 40 lbs], with or without assistance
  • Manual dexterity to handle foam components and packaging materials

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing/production floor environment
  • Exposure to noise, equipment, and production materials typical of a manufacturing setting
