Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee installation of access control and CCTV systems on commercial job sites
- Supervise and support a team of technicians, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
- Install and service door hardware, card readers, electric strikes, mag locks, and related devices
- Oversee panel wiring, system connections, and device integration
- Run, route, terminate, and inspect low voltage cabling (CAT5e/CAT6)
- Read and interpret blueprints, system layouts, and wiring diagrams
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades on site
- Ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards
- Troubleshoot system issues and provide technical guidance to team members
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
Requirements
- 4+ years of commercial security or low voltage installation experience
- Proven experience leading crews or acting as a lead technician/foreman
- Strong background in access control systems, CCTV, and structured cabling
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and system drawings
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
- Basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with systems such as Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Honeywell, or similar platforms
- Experience with programming or configuring access control and CCTV systems
- Manufacturer certifications a plus
- Experience working in commercial, healthcare, or industrial environments
- BICSI, OSHA, or lift certifications
