Next Level Technician is urgently hiring a Access Control Technician- Field Engineer for a long-term opportunity in the Dallas, TX area for $25-$30 per hour based on experience.
Access Control Technician- Field Engineer at Next Level Technician will be working at a variety of Commercial and Industrial sites. These sites can include schools, hospitals, offices, retail stores, and industrial plants and warehouses. Each site and scope of work will be unique and add to the skillset and knowledge of the Low Voltage Cable Technician!

Access Control Technician- Field Engineer Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Access Control Systems, Video Surveillance (CCTV), Intrusion Detection, and related low-voltage systems.
- Run, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Fiber, and other low-voltage cabling.
- Organize and label the cables
- Configure and program security systems, including IP-based and analog CCTV systems, card readers, and biometric access control units.
- Conduct system inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve system faults, wiring issues, and connectivity problems efficiently.
- Work with clients to provide technical support, system training, and service documentation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
- Ensure installations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines.
- Prepare estimates for work orders
- Perform routine maintenance inspections on customer equipment
- Perform Quality Checks on Project Installations
Access Control Technician- Field Engineer Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience in low-voltage installation and service.
- Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting Access Control Systems
- Hands-on experience with Video Surveillance Systems
- Strong knowledge of IP networking, PoE switches, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Ability to use tools such as cable testers, multimeters, crimpers, and punch-down tools.
- Understanding of low-voltage wiring codes and regulations.
- Safety-minded with an attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of CRM systems including customer records management and a willingness to learn new platforms.
- Experience with Verkada and/or Rhombus a plus.
- BICSI Certification (Installer/Technician) Preferred
- OSHA 10/30 Certification Preferred
- IPVM Video Surveillance Training Preferred
