Next Level Technician is seeking experienced Access Control Technicians for a long-term opportunity based in Charlotte, NC . This position offers consistent local work with limited shift flexibility (rare second-shift requirements). We are looking for detail-oriented technicians capable of independently installing and troubleshooting access control systems, with or without programming experience.
Key Responsibilities

Independently install complex access control systems based on installation plans provided by leads or project managers

Pull and terminate composite cable from panel to door
-
Conceal wiring for card readers and electric strikes
-
Install and terminate:
-
Magnetic locks
-
Electric strikes (metal/wooden doors)
-
Push buttons
-
Door sensors
-
PIR motion detectors
-
Card readers
-
Fire alarm relays
-
Low-voltage power supplies and access control panels
-

Test all door and device operations for proper functionality and customer compliance
-
Read and interpret wiring diagrams (series/parallel wiring)

Work within safety and fire code requirements, including lift and egress standards
Required Experience & Skills
- 1–2 years of continuous experience installing access control systems
- 1–2 years of experience installing and aiming CCTV cameras, with basic login and setup knowledge

Ability to cut metal and wooden frames for electric strikes without supervision

Ability to install magnetic locks on metal frames without supervision

Strong understanding of access control wiring and components

Familiarity with systems from manufacturers such as:
- Avigilon
- Verkada
- Genetec/Genex
- S2
- Paxton
Preferred Qualifications

Programming experience for access control systems

Experience installing and terminating S2 systems/panels

Manufacturer certifications (a plus but not required)
