Assistant Project Manager – Network Infrastructure & Structured Cabling

West Memphis, AR

Join Next Level Technician as an Assistant Project Manager (APM) in West Memphis, AR! Earn $100,000–$115,000 annually , plus benefits, and support the delivery of network infrastructure and structured cabling projects. This role partners closely with Project Managers, site teams, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.


Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Assist in planning, directing, coordinating, and budgeting construction and network infrastructure projects

  • Support development and maintenance of the program schedule, milestones, and delivery targets

  • Ensure projects meet schedule, cost, quality, safety, and functionality requirements

  • Participate in conceptual project development, estimating, scheduling, and implementation

  • Evaluate materials and construction methods for feasibility and constructability during pre-construction

  • Assist with cost estimating at multiple project stages and support value engineering efforts

Operations & Site Management

  • Coordinate daily activities with Project Managers, superintendents, and site teams

  • Determine labor requirements and assist with dispatching technicians to job sites

  • Facilitate travel logistics for technicians assigned to project sites

  • Inspect and review projects to ensure compliance with codes, specifications, and regulations

  • Be present on-site to support active construction management responsibilities

Financial & Contract Management

  • Assist with managing project budgets, cost tracking, and financial forecasts

  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost reports

  • Support client invoicing, cost postings, and customer collections

  • Assist in contract preparation, change management, and negotiation of revisions and additions

  • Review job cost postings for accuracy and completeness

Procurement & Logistics

  • Assist with equipment and material purchasing and bill of materials development

  • Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers to support project schedules

  • Solicit, evaluate, and support subcontractor and vendor selection

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Support implementation of quality control programs and project management standards

  • Assist with Safety & Environmental program compliance as directed by the PM

  • Participate in investigations related to site issues, delays, incidents, or emergencies

Client & Team Leadership

  • Act as a liaison between the company, clients, designers, subcontractors, and internal teams

  • Support client meetings, presentations, and resolution of project issues

  • Proactively communicate project status, risks, and corrective actions to stakeholders

  • Train, coach, and support development of project team members

Reporting & Process Management

  • Maintain project schedules, financial plans, and documentation per company standards

  • Complete all weekly and monthly reporting, projections, and project updates

  • Assist with preparation and execution of the company project management playbook


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience

  • 1–3+ years of experience in construction management, data centers, or structured cabling environments

  • Proven ability to support delivery of mission-critical projects on time and within budget

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong organizational, time management, and coordination skills across multiple disciplines

  • Excellent communication and client engagement skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Contract negotiation and administration experience

  • Knowledge of earned value management, SPI, CPI, and project tracking metrics

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification

  • BICSI RCDD or other telecommunications certifications
