Next Level Technician is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Center Technician to support a major client site in Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high-profile data center environment alongside industry professionals, supporting a secure and fast-paced infrastructure.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in low voltage cabling, fiber optics, and networking equipment installation who is ready to take their career to the next level. You'll be hands-on in installing, testing, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems and working closely with engineers, technicians, and IT leadership.
? What You’ll Be Doing:

Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low voltage cabling systems, including Cat5e/6/6A, fiber optics, and coax in a data center setting.

Mount and install networking equipment (switches, routers, patch panels, etc.) inside racks and cabinets.

Execute cable management, patching, labeling, and documentation per client and industry standards.

Collaborate with the client, general contractors, site managers, and engineering teams to support IT infrastructure upgrades and maintenance.

Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and scope of work documents.

Support end-to-end quality control, from planning and installation to final testing and documentation.

Maintain safety and security standards at all times, especially in high-clearance environments.

Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders both on and off the jobsite.
? Who We’re Looking For:
Must-Haves:-
2–3 years of experience with low voltage cabling (Cat6, Fiber, Coax), preferably in a data center or mission-critical environment.

Familiarity with data center infrastructure such as racks, PDUs, structured cabling, and hardware installation.

Ability to operate testing equipment (Fluke, NetAlly, OTDR, etc.).

Understanding of ANSI/TIA/EIA and BICSI standards.

Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized under pressure.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

BICSI Technician (TECH) Certification or relevant structured cabling certifications.

Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing platforms.

Familiarity with DCIM or asset tracking tools.

Previous experience on government or high-security sites.

Experience working with or installing Corning, Leviton, or Panduit products.
