Data Center Technicians

About the Role

We’re seeking a motivated, hands-on Data Center Technician  in Columbus Ohio to join our growing team! In this role, you’ll assist with structured cabling, equipment installation, and general support in a large-scale data center environment. You don’t need years of experience — just a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced setting.

This is a great opportunity for candidates with a background in trades, IT support, or low-voltage work who are looking to build a career in the data center industry.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with pulling, routing, and securing CAT6 and fiber optic cabling

• Perform basic cable terminations under supervision (copper & fiber)

• Support rack-and-stack work: installing servers, switches, and power units

• Label, organize, and dress cables to meet site standards

• Perform physical inspections to identify and report issues

• Keep tools, workspaces, and cable storage areas clean and organized

• Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE on active job sites

• Work closely with team leads and follow daily task assignments

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and basic mechanical skills

• Comfortable working on ladders, in tight spaces, or around active equipment

• Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment

• Willingness to learn and work physically throughout the shift

• Reliable transportation and punctuality

• Experience with low-voltage cabling, construction, or IT support

• Familiarity with hand tools (crimpers, testers, punch-down tools)

• Previous exposure to data center or telecom environments

Work Conditions

• May involve standing, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)

• Work may be performed in raised floor or overhead environments

• Night shift, weekend, or flexible scheduling may be required
