Fire Alarm & Security Technician – Kenosha, WI

Pay:$25–$30/hr
Experience: Fire alarm, security, or low-voltage experience preferred

Next Level Technician is urgently hiring Fire Alarm & Security Technicians for a long-term opportunity in Kenosha, WI. Technicians will work on commercial and industrial projects installing, servicing, and troubleshooting fire alarm, access control, CCTV, fiber optic, and integrated low-voltage systems.

Minimum Requirements

  • Completion of Electronic Systems Technician (EST) Apprenticeship Program preferred (if applicable)
  • BICSI or NICET Certification preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, including understanding spoken and written instructions
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance
  • Ability to work safely in commercial construction environments
  • Ability to work from ladders and lifts as needed

Travel

  • 5–10% travel may be required

Work Schedule

This position typically works between the hours of 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Schedule may vary based on customer demands and can include nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and service a wide range of systems including:
    • Fire Alarm
    • Security Systems
    • Access Control
    • CCTV
    • Voice & Data Cabling
    • Fiber Optics
    • Nurse Call Systems
  • Pull and route low-voltage cabling in commercial environments
  • Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and system layouts effectively
  • Evaluate upcoming tasks and anticipate equipment, procedures, and training needs
  • Enforce safe job site practices and maintain compliance with company, OSHA, and customer-specific safety standards
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and training to Helpers and Apprentices
  • Work alongside project managers, foremen, and other technicians on active job sites
