Responsibilities
- Lead installation of audio visual systems from rough-in through final commissioning and client handoff
- Supervise and support a team of 2–8 technicians and subcontractors on job sites
- Pull, route, terminate, and dress low voltage cabling (CAT5e/CAT6, speaker wire, AV cabling)
- Install and configure displays, projectors, control systems, and rack equipment
- Read and interpret AV drawings, schematics, signal flow diagrams, and construction plans
- Troubleshoot and resolve audio, video, and control system issues in real time
- Assist with system programming, configuration, and network integration
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and other trades to keep projects on schedule
- Provide training and guidance to technicians on installation standards and best practices
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and site logs
- Ensure job sites are safe, organized, and compliant with OSHA standards
Requirements
- 3–5 years of commercial AV installation experience , with leadership or lead technician experience
- Strong knowledge of AV systems, signal flow, displays, projectors, and rack builds
- Experience leading crews and managing work across multiple job sites
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and cabling schedules
- Experience with installation tools, test equipment, and structured cabling practices
- Basic understanding of AV networking and IP-based systems
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- OSHA 30 certification required
- Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification
- Experience with Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Polycom, QSC, or similar systems
- Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or enterprise AV environments
- Familiarity with Smartsheet or project tracking tools
