Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day on-site AV installation projects, serving as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, engineers, and internal teams.
- Oversee the installation of AV systems, including displays, sound systems, control systems, conferencing solutions, and supporting infrastructure.
- Manage project schedules and milestones, proactively identifying risks and resolving installation issues through site walks and jobsite readiness assessments.
- Read and interpret AV drawings, schematics, and system designs to guide installations.
- Supervise subcontractors, technicians, and labor crews, ensuring proper scheduling, quality control, and safety compliance.
- Track project progress and provide regular status updates to internal teams and clients.
- Enforce compliance with safety standards, building codes, company policies, and applicable ANSI/AVIXA standards.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries, staging, and inventory management.
- Load programs, test AV control and DSP systems (Q-SYS, Extron, Biamp, Crestron, etc.), support system commissioning, and oversee final client handoff.
- Maintain clear client communication throughout the project and complete as-built drawings, change orders, and closeout documentation.
- 5–7+ years of experience in commercial AV installation, construction, or low-voltage project management.
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) required; CTS-I preferred.
- Strong understanding of AV signal flow, audio systems, video distribution, video conferencing, AV-over-IP technologies, structured cabling, TCP/IP networking, VLANs, PoE, managed switches, and Dante and/or AVB audio networking.
- Experience with Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Shure, Logitech, Poly, Cisco Webex, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and the ability to configure and troubleshoot AV control systems, DSPs, network switches, and AV-over-IP devices.
- Experience managing commercial AV projects in corporate, education, healthcare, or government environments, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction documents.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and project management skills, including proficiency with project reporting tools.
- OSHA certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver's license required, with the willingness and ability to travel to job sites throughout the Greater Houston area and surrounding regions as needed.
