Responsibilities
- Pull, route, terminate, and label CAT5e/CAT6 cabling in commercial environments
- Experience with CAT6 and speaker cable pulling, daisy chain cables
- Assist in Valcom speaker installation
- Dress and organize cabling in MDF/IDF rooms and communication closets
- Test installed cabling using Fluke or similar testers
- Punch down voice and data jacks and terminate patch panels
- Assist with installation of racks, cabinets, ladder rack, and cable tray systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, system layouts, and cable schedules
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Work safely on ladders and lifts (comfortable with heights)
Requirements
- 1+ years of structured cabling or low voltage experience
- Experience with CAT5e/CAT6 pulling and termination
- Basic understanding of cable testing and troubleshooting
- Ability to read basic blueprints and installation drawings
- Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
- Basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fiber optic installation or termination
- Experience working in commercial or industrial environments
- OSHA or lift certifications
- Experience assisting with cable tray or pathway installation
