Responsibilities- Install, terminate, and test AV cabling (HDMI, audio, CAT6/6A, speaker wire, control cable, etc.)
- Install AV systems in conference rooms, classrooms, military/government environments, training rooms, and mission-critical spaces
- Mount and install projectors, displays, audio systems, microphones, speakers, and related AV equipment
- Rack, wire, and label AV headend systems, switchers, DSPs, amplifiers, and control processors
- Program and commission AV systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX; custom scripting a plus)
- Configure and integrate major manufacturers’ systems (Biamp, JBL, Shure, Valcom, LG, NEC, and more)
- Perform system checkout, calibration, and verification (signal path, audio levels, video quality, latency, network config)
- Troubleshoot AV systems (hardware, firmware, software, networking) and perform repairs/replacements
- Provide end-user training and documentation for system operation
- Read and interpret AV blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation documentation
- Work safely on ladders/lifts (comfortable with heights)
- Support additional low voltage systems as needed across commercial, education, and government sites
- 2–3+ years of commercial AV installation/integration experience
- Strong AV technical background (signal routing, DSPs, switching, displays, audio formats, resolutions, networks)
- Experience with AV control platforms such as Crestron, AMX, Extron
- Ability to read and interpret AV schematics and wiring diagrams
- Working knowledge of telecom/data networks (IP, PoE, switches, VLANs)
- BICSI, Lift, and OSHA certifications a plus
- Manufacturer experience/certs with leading brands (Crestron, Extron, Biamp, JBL, Shure, LG, Epson, etc.) a plus
- Basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
- Willingness to travel to job sites within NC/SC region as needed
