Low Voltage Cable Technician – CAT6 & Commercial/Hospital Projects
Location: Charleston, SC | Full-Time | Immediate Openings Next Level Technician is actively hiring experienced Low Voltage Cable Technicians for a long-term opportunity supporting complex commercial and hospital infrastructure across the Charleston SC area. If you're highly skilled with CAT6 cabling and thrive in fast-paced, mission-critical environments, this role offers the challenge and growth you’re looking for.

You’ll play a key role in building the communications backbone for medical facilities, corporate campuses, industrial plants, and more—where reliability, performance, and precision are essential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Expert-level installation of CAT6 cable : pulling, dressing, terminating, labeling, and certifying

  • Install and test fiber optic cabling (Single Mode and Multi-Mode)

  • Conduct system certification using tools such as Fluke DSX CableAnalyzer

  • Build out full telecom infrastructure: racks, patch panels, cable trays, cabinets, IDF/MDF closets

  • Punch down voice and data jacks, mount workstation outlets, and perform professional firestopping

  • Interpret blueprints and system layouts accurately

  • Use ladders and lifts safely and effectively in varied site conditions

  • (Preferred) Perform fusion splicing and terminate Unicam connectors

  • (Preferred) Install and troubleshoot CCTV and Access Control systems in commercial environments


Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in commercial or industrial low voltage installations

  • Proven proficiency with CAT6 structured cabling

  • Comfortable working night shifts and traveling within the state (lodging, travel, and per diem provided)

  • Must supply personal hand tools and required PPE (hard hat, high-visibility vest, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots)

  • Familiarity with telecom/network infrastructure; BICSI, OSHA, and Lift certifications are highly preferred
