Primary Duties:- Pull and terminate Cat6 cabling, ensuring accurate RJ45 connections and compliance with industry standards.
- Terminate fibers and test for proper functionality using specialized testing tools, following best practices from start to finish.
- Install cable support systems such as j-hooks, planning layouts to ensure proper support and compliance with blueprints.
- Install and configure closet hardware, including backboards and patch panels, according to project specifications.
- Review blueprints and technical drawings to plan installation procedures effectively.
- Use appropriate testing equipment to verify cable performance post-installation.
- Maintain safety protocols and professional conduct on-site, managing multiple tasks independently with organization and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members and coordinate with project managers to meet project deadlines.
- Minimum of 3+ years of consistent experience in low voltage cabling installation, specifically pulling and terminating Cat6 solutions.
- Ability to work on ladders and lifts.
- Ability to accurately terminate RJ45 connections and work with fiber optic components.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and cable support system installation.
- Familiarity with testing tools for structured cabling, such as certification testers.
- Valid certifications or training related to structured cabling preferred.
- Ability to work 4x10-hour shifts Monday through Thursday, with potential for additional hours or Friday work.
- Must have reliable transportation; occasional out-of-town work with provided travel, hotel, and per diem when applicable.
- PPE/equipment required includes typical safety gear (hard hat, gloves, etc.), brand-specific tools, and testing devices.
