Low Voltage Cabling Technician – Healthcare Projects

Position Summary

The Structured Cabling Technician is responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling systems in healthcare environments. This role requires strong experience with CAT6 installations and the ability to work professionally in active hospital and medical facility settings.

Responsibilities

  • Pull, terminate, and test CAT6 cabling in commercial and healthcare environments
  • Support structured cabling installations across hospital and medical facilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floorplans, and scope documentation
  • Perform cable labeling, dressing, and organization to industry standards
  • Install cable pathways including J-hooks, cable tray, and basic supports
  • Troubleshoot cable performance issues and ensure proper system functionality
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
  • Work safely and professionally around hospital staff, patients, and contractors
  • Support occasional second shift work as project needs require

Requirements

  • 4–5 years of structured cabling or low-voltage installation experience
  • Strong experience with pulling, terminating, and testing CAT6 cabling
  • Commercial construction or healthcare project experience preferred
  • Ability to read construction drawings and work independently
  • Professional demeanor for active healthcare environments
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in hospitals, medical facilities, or healthcare environments
  • Familiarity with Fluke testing equipment
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Experience with cable tray, J-hooks, and pathway installation
  • Schedule

  • Monday–Friday
  • Primarily first shift
  • Must be open to occasional second shift work as needed
  • Immediate start available

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work on ladders and in ceilings
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in active construction environments
  • Comfortable working across multiple healthcare locations
