Low Voltage Installation Technician | Brookfield, WI
Join Next Level Technician as a Low Voltage Installation Technician in Appleton, WI! Earn $24-$26/hr., enjoy weekly pay, benefits, and steady work with a national leader. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of low-voltage systems, including voice and data, fiber optics, DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems), security, access control, wireless systems, and nurse call. Responsibilities:
- Pull, terminate, dress, label, test, and troubleshoot CAT5e/CAT6 and fiber optic cabling
- Test installed copper and fiber cabling using Fluke or similar testers
- Install racks, patch panels, cable trays, cabinets, MDF/IDF, etc.
- Perform fiber optic installation, termination, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting
- Install and support voice/data, DAS, security, access control, wireless, nurse call, CCTV, and audio/visual systems
- Punch down voice and data jacks
- Work safely on ladders/lifts (comfortable with heights)
- Read and interpret blueprints/system layouts
- Install and support access control, CCTV, audio visual, and fiber optic systems
Requirements:
- 3+ years of commercial or industrial low voltage experience
- Experience with structured cabling, fiber optics, voice/data, security, or related low-voltage systems
- Fiber optic installation, termination, splicing, testing, or troubleshooting experience preferred
- Working knowledge of telecommunications, data networks, cabling, connectivity, and related hardware/software
- BICSI, PMP, lift, and OSHA certifications are a plus
- Basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
- Working knowledge of telecom and data networks
- Willingness to travel to job sites throughout Wisconsin as needed
- Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting, climbing 6'+ ladders/lifts, overhead and tight-space work, cable pulling, and frequent local/out-of-state travel as needed
- Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional nights, weekends, and holidays
