Structured Cabling Project Manager – Raleigh-Durham, NC
Next Level Technician is seeking an experienced Structured Cabling Project Manager for a direct-hire opportunity in the Raleigh-Durham market! Earn $55,000–$95,000 annually, plus annual bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, while managing multiple commercial and industrial structured cabling projects throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.
This is a field-focused Project Manager role for someone who understands structured cabling from the ground up and can successfully manage multiple active projects, crews, schedules, customers, and job-site priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple commercial and industrial structured cabling projects simultaneously.
- Oversee projects from planning and mobilization through installation, testing, closeout, and customer turnover.
- Coordinate field technicians, leads, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and project schedules.
- Visit active job sites regularly to monitor progress, quality, safety, and productivity.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, internal teams, and field personnel.
- Review blueprints, drawings, scopes of work, project documentation, and change requirements.
- Track project schedules, labor needs, materials, milestones, and overall job progress.
- Identify potential project issues early and work proactively to keep jobs on schedule.
- Ensure structured cabling installations meet customer specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong communication between the field, customer, and branch team.
Requirements:
- Experience managing commercial and/or industrial structured cabling projects.
- Strong technical understanding of copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
- Previous field experience in structured cabling is highly preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, crews, schedules, and customer relationships simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of project planning, labor coordination, materials, scheduling, and job-site execution.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, scopes of work, and project documentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in the field and regularly visiting active construction sites.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions to keep projects moving.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout North Carolina and South Carolina as needed.
Territory & Travel:
- Majority of projects are local to the Raleigh branch and surrounding Raleigh-Durham market.
- Heavy local project activity toward Fayetteville and areas east of Raleigh.
- Must have flexibility to travel throughout North Carolina and South Carolina based on project needs.
- No company vehicle is provided.
- Mileage reimbursement is provided for business travel.
- Hotel accommodations are covered when overnight travel is required.
