Next Level Technician is looking for a tech to support avanced audio/visual systems in corporate, education, military and other mission-critical environments.
We are looking for a strong AV Technician who can hit the ground running: install, troubleshoot, program and maintain AV systems to support our clients and uphold our standard of excellence.
Position Summary
The AV Technician will be responsible for the installation, programming, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of audio/rendering/video/display systems, digital signage, conferencing, paging/intercom, and related AV infrastructure. The successful candidate will work across varied environments (corporate, education, government/military) and collaborate with engineers, project managers and clients to deliver a seamless AV experience.
Key Responsibilities

Perform hands-on installation of AV equipment: displays, projectors, audio systems, microphones, matrix switchers, control systems, digital signage, conferencing systems, etc.

Install and terminate cabling and connectors as needed for AV system deployments.

Program AV control systems (for example room automation, Crestron, AMX) and integrate systems for meeting rooms, lecture halls, digital signage boards, etc.

Configure and integrate equipment from major AV manufacturers (see list below).

Perform system checkout, calibration, and verification of performance post-install; ensure signal paths, audio levels, video quality, latency, network connectivity are all within specs.

Troubleshoot faults in AV systems (hardware, firmware, software, networking) and execute repairs or replacements as required.

Provide end-user training and documentation for the client on system operation.

Provide ongoing maintenance and support for installed systems (scheduled service, upgrades, firmware updates, preventive maintenance).

Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, third-party integrators and subcontractors to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards.

Adhere to safety protocols, follow installation best-practices, and maintain clean, professional site presentation.

Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and AV parts; report any required purchases or shortages.

Keep accurate records of service calls, installations, programming changes and client feedback.
Desired Qualifications & Skills

3+ years of experience working in AV installation, programming and support (corporate, education or government environments preferred).

Strong technical skills: electronics, signal routing, audio/video formats/resolutions, networking basics (IP, switches, VLANs, PoE), control systems programming.

Experience with AV control platforms (such as Crestron, AMX) and custom control scripting.

Competence with AV equipment from a broad palette of manufacturers (see “Manufacturers We Use” below).

Ability to read and interpret system drawings, wiring diagrams, AV schematics, and installation documentation.

Excellent troubleshooting skills: identify root-cause, isolate issue, propose and implement solution.

Good customer-facing communication skills; ability to explain technical issues/solutions in non-technical language when required.

Able to travel to sites, work evenings or weekends as needed for install windows or service calls.

High degree of professionalism, reliability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., CTS, CTS-I/CTS-D).

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Travel to client sites, sometimes across regions; ability to transport tools and AV gear.

Manual tasks: lifting and moving equipment (monitors, speakers, projectors), mounting hardware, terminating cables.

Some work at heights (ladders, lifts) and in ceiling/under-floor access areas.

Flexible schedule: may include nights to meet customer install timelines or service windows.

Must adhere to safety standards, use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required, and follow site-specific safety rules.
