We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and related security solutions. This role involves working on-site at various commercial and industrial locations, ensuring high-quality service delivery to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Installation & Maintenance:

Install, configure, and maintain low voltage systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and intercom systems.

Run, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling.

Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on installed systems.
Diagnose and resolve system malfunctions efficiently to minimize downtime.
Provide technical support and training to clients on system operations.
Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
Ensure all installations comply with local and national electrical and safety codes.
Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service calls.
Qualifications:
- Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in low voltage systems installation and maintenance.

Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting access control systems, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems.
Strong knowledge of IP networking, PoE switches, and basic network troubleshooting.
Ability to use tools such as cable testers, multimeters, crimpers, and punch-down tools.
State of Texas Security Installer License (or ability to obtain).
Preferred certifications: BICSI Installer/Technician, OSHA 10/30, NICET, or manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Axis, Honeywell).
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with enterprise access control platforms (e.g., Lenel, S2, AMAG).

Familiarity with fire alarm systems and NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72.
- Experience working at heights and operating lifts.
