Network Cabling Technician – Structured Cabling Installation | Lubbock, TX

Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A network cabling systems
- Pull, route, and secure structured cabling in commercial and industrial environments
- Install and support fiber optic cabling infrastructure as required
- Install conduit and build cable pathways for structured cabling systems
- Dig trenches and assist with underground conduit and cabling installations
- Pull cable, install connectors, and test systems for Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Build out and maintain MDFs, IDFs, telecommunications rooms, and network closets
- Dress and organize cables using proper wire management techniques, including cable trays, J-hooks, and ladder racks
- Accurately label all cables and components to maintain organization and documentation standards
- Work with customer databases and project documentation systems to update installation records, testing results, and job progress
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and low voltage drawings
- Test and certify cable installations using industry-standard testing equipment
- Ensure all work meets industry standards for quality, reliability, and safety
- Work inside and outside in varying environmental conditions
- Work a rotational schedule of 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, with 6–7 days per week during active rotations
Requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on structured cabling or network cabling experience
- Must have Lift Certification
- Required: OSHA-10 Certification and Confined Space Certification
- Experience installing, terminating, and testing Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling
- Experience installing conduit and working on underground cabling/trenching projects
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including digging trenches and outdoor labor
- Willingness to travel as a field technician
- Lodging and $60/day per diem provided
- Drive time provided for candidates traveling from Lubbock
- Mileage reimbursed for technicians traveling from other locations
- Working knowledge of telecom, data networks, and BAS systems preferred
- Experience working in MDFs, IDFs, server rooms, or telecommunications environments
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and network diagrams
- Must have full PPE and basic hand tools (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots required)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments
