Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Installation Technician to join our team, specializing in low-voltage systems for healthcare environments. This role primarily involves installing and configuring nurse call systems — including Hillrom and others — as well as sound masking , overhead paging , intercom, emergency call systems , lighting controls , and similar infrastructure in hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in healthcare technology installations, a commitment to quality, and a strong understanding of low-voltage electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling and hardware for nurse call systems and other healthcare communication platforms.

Install, test, and if applicable configure and integrate systems including:
- Nurse call systems (e.g., Hillrom, Rauland, Jeron, Ascom)
- Sound masking, intercom and paging systems
- Lighting and environmental control interfaces
- Emergency pull cord and code blue systems
- Wander management and infant protection
Interpret construction drawings, wiring schematics, and system layouts.
Collaborate with construction teams, healthcare staff, IT departments, and general contractors to meet project timelines and hospital standards.
Conduct final commissioning, testing, and documentation of installed systems.
Ensure compliance with all infection control, safety protocols, and applicable building codes.
Maintain organized records including as-builts, test results, and punch lists.
Qualifications:
Required:-
High school diploma or GED.

2+ years of experience installing low-voltage systems in healthcare or commercial settings.

Familiarity with multiple nurse call systems, particularly Hillrom , Rauland , Jeron , and/or Ascom .

Proficient in use of installation tools (e.g., punch tools, cable testers, multimeters).

Comfortable working in active patient care environments.

Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and hospital compliance checks.

Technical or vocational training in electronics, telecommunications, or low-voltage systems.

Manufacturer certifications or training in nurse call or hospital communication systems.

OSHA 10 or 30 certification.

Familiarity with TIA/EIA cabling standards and BICSI installation practices.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Work on ladders, lifts, or in ceilings and wall cavities as needed.

Stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
Work Environment:

Active job sites within hospitals, clinics, and medical office buildings.

May require travel between sites and occasional overtime or night/weekend work to meet project schedules.
