Next Level Technician is seeking a skilled Project Engineer  to support large-scale data center and structured cabling projects in Columbus, OH with a salary ranging from $80,000-$105,000 annually. This role is ideal for a driven professional with experience in construction management, electrical engineering, or structured cabling who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

Pre-Construction
  • Provide technical expertise and participate in constructability reviews.

  • Assist with proposals, estimates, and feasibility assessments.

Project Planning & Execution
  • Keep projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with deadlines.

  • Support Project Managers with project logs, permits, and scheduling.

  • Coordinate submittals, materials, and equipment for timely delivery.

  • Review design specifications, drawings, and scope of work for constructability.

  • Monitor project progress, conduct site checks, and ensure compliance with safety/quality standards.

  • Assist with RFIs, submittal packages, change orders, and design modifications.

Post-Construction
  • Support site management with as-builts, certified test results, and close-out documents.

  • Participate in lessons learned to improve future projects.

Client Engagement
  • Communicate project goals clearly to field personnel.

  • Maintain strong, positive relationships with clients throughout the project lifecycle.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in construction management, data centers, or structured cabling.

  • Strong skills in project scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.

  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints, specs, and technical documents.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam and time-management/collaboration software.

  • Knowledge of legal requirements, codes, and safety standards (OSHA 30).

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask, lead initiatives, and adapt to evolving project needs.
