Next Level Technician is urgently hiring a Low Voltage Systems Designer for a long-term opportunity based in Gainesville, VA capacity with travel to job sites as needed.
Low Voltage Systems Designers at Next Level Technician will support large-scale commercial and industrial infrastructure projects. Sites may include data centers, secure government facilities, hospitals, or other complex builds. Every project will challenge your technical design skills while offering the chance to collaborate with a high-performance team in the structured cabling and security space.

Low Voltage Systems Designer Responsibilities:
Design structured cabling systems including access control and video surveillance to meet client specifications
Develop installation drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD or similar design tools
Conduct field surveys to ensure designs align with actual site conditions and code requirements
Oversee the integration of telecom, network, and security systems into new and existing infrastructure
Collaborate with technicians, project managers, subcontractors, and clients to deliver scalable and practical solutions
Ensure that all cable installations meet BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA standards, including routing, labeling, and termination
Advise on rack layouts, power systems (UPS, generator), and network switch configurations
Support install teams with training, documentation, and QA/QC guidance
Low Voltage Systems Designer Requirements:
RCDD Certification (required)
BICSI DCDC Certification (preferred)
5+ years of experience designing structured cabling, access control, and surveillance systems
Strong understanding of copper (Cat5e/6/6a) and fiber systems
Proficiency with AutoCAD and design layout software
Comfortable with projects in high-density environments such as data centers or secure facilities
Knowledge of rack layouts, cooling systems, and electrical distribution
Hands-on familiarity with IP networking and switch configuration
Strong documentation and communication skills
Able to manage multiple projects and adapt quickly to shifting priorities
