Responsibilities
Safety Program Implementation & Compliance
- Implement and enforce site safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client safety standards, and site-specific requirements.
- Conduct routine site audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Partner with project managers, subcontractors, and field supervisors to proactively resolve safety concerns.
- Serve as the primary safety liaison between project leadership, subcontractors, and clients.
- Maintain detailed documentation of safety inspections, permits, corrective actions, and compliance records.
- Develop and manage safety schedules for inspections, audits, and required training.
- Monitor safety metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Hazard Identification & Risk Mitigation
- Maintain and enforce the Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan (SSHSP).
- Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Pre-Task Plans (PTPs).
- Enforce PPE requirements, fall protection, electrical safety, and MEWP compliance.
- Develop emergency response procedures and coordinate emergency drills.
- Ensure subcontractors meet all safety requirements through ongoing audits and oversight.
- Coordinate with local emergency responders and medical personnel as needed.
Incident Response & Documentation
- Lead investigations into incidents, injuries, and near misses.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed incident reports for project leadership and clients.
- Track trends and implement strategies to reduce future incidents.
- Ensure all reporting meets OSHA and client requirements.
Training & Safety Leadership
- Conduct new hire and subcontractor safety orientations.
- Lead daily toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings, and safety stand-downs.
- Provide hands-on training in hazard recognition and emergency response.
- Maintain training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
- Track safety KPIs including incident rates, audit scores, and near-miss reporting.
Requirements
- 5+ years of construction safety experience(data center experience strongly preferred).
- OSHA 510 Certification is REQUIRED.
- Strong knowledge of:
- OSHA construction standards
- Fall Protection
- Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs)
- Electrical Safety
- Lockout/Tagout
- Experience leading safety programs on commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to engage both field personnel and project leadership.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CHST or CSP Certification
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
- OSHA 500
- OSHA 3115 Fall Protection
- OSHA 7115 Lockout/Tagout
- NFPA 70E Certification
