Position Summary
The Safety Specialist will support and strengthen safety performance across active field operations by conducting site inspections, reviewing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), assisting with incident investigations, and helping ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. This is a hands-on, field-focused role working closely with crews, supervisors, and safety leadership to reinforce safe work practices and promote a strong safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits across field operations
- Review and support development of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
- Assist with accident, incident, and near-miss investigations and follow-up actions
- Support implementation of safety policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives
- Provide coaching and guidance to field employees and supervisors regarding safe work practices
- Assist with safety training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
- Track and document safety observations, corrective actions, and compliance activities
- Identify hazards and help implement solutions to improve overall jobsite safety
- Work closely with operations and project teams to maintain a proactive safety culture
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), or Occupational Safety
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
- Experience performing field inspections, hazard identification, and basic incident investigations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with field teams
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites as needed
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 certification or similar safety credential
- Experience in construction, telecommunications, utility, or low voltage environments
- Familiarity with JHA development and site-specific safety plans
- CPR/First Aid certification a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
