Position Summary

The Security Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, and troubleshooting commercial access control and CCTV/IP camera systems. This role requires a well-rounded technician who can handle both project installations and service work while maintaining high-quality standards and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and troubleshoot access control and CCTV/IP camera systems
• Perform both project-based installations and ongoing service work
• Run and terminate low-voltage cabling and ensure proper system connectivity
• Diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently in the field
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and system layouts
• Manage workload independently and prioritize service calls and project tasks
• Maintain professional communication with customers on job sites
• Travel as needed to support projects in surrounding areas including Winston-Salem and Greensboro
• Ensure all work meets company standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations

Requirements

• Strong experience with access control systems and CCTV/IP cameras
• Proven troubleshooting and service experience
• Knowledge of low-voltage wiring and basic networking fundamentals
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AMAG systems
• Experience with Genetec
• Experience with Honeywell systems
• Experience with Axis Communications cameras
• Experience working in both service and installation environments

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work on ladders and in various jobsite environments
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in indoor and outdoor conditions
• Willingness to travel and occasionally work extended hours
