Senior Structured Cabling Technician – San Antonio, TX

Responsibilities:

• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A
• Perform data cabling installations in commercial, industrial, and enterprise environments
• Pull, route, dress, and organize cabling using proper installation standards
• Build out and maintain MDFs, IDFs, telecom rooms, racks, patch panels, and cable management systems
• Install cable pathways including J-hooks, ladder racks, cable trays, and conduit
• Perform cable labeling, documentation, and quality control inspections
• Test and certify cabling installations using industry-standard testing equipment
• Troubleshoot cabling issues and identify solutions efficiently
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and low voltage drawings
• Work independently while maintaining high-quality installation standards
• Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members
• Travel throughout Southern Texas when applicable
• Work overnight shifts when required based on project needs

Requirements:

• 3+ years of commercial structured cabling experience preferred
• Must be a seasoned data/structured cabling technician with strong hands-on installation experience
• Experience installing, terminating, and testing:
  • Cat5e
  • Cat6
  • Cat6A
  • Fiber optic cabling (a plus)
• Strong understanding of telecommunications and data infrastructure
• Experience with MDF/IDF buildouts, racks, patch panels, and cable management
• Knowledge of cable testing equipment and certification processes
• Ability to troubleshoot cabling and network infrastructure issues
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have basic hand tools and PPE:
  • Hard hat
  • Safety glasses
  • Gloves
  • Hi-vis vest
  • Steel-toe boots
• Willingness to travel throughout Southern Texas as needed
• Ability to work overnight shifts when applicable
• BICSI, OSHA, Lift Certifications, and manufacturer certifications are a plus
