The SMT Operator / Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment to assemble electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs). This role ensures production runs efficiently while meeting JW Speaker’s quality, safety, and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor SMT equipment (pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, screen printers)

Load components, feeders, and materials according to production schedules

Inspect PCBs for defects such as misalignment, solder issues, or missing components

Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments to machines as trained

Document production data, defects, and downtime accurately

Follow ESD, safety, and quality procedures at all times

Assist with changeovers and preventive maintenance activities

Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Qualifications & Skills

Previous SMT, electronics manufacturing, or machine operation experience preferred

Ability to read work instructions, schematics, and assembly documentation

Familiarity with ESD requirements and electronic components

Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Basic computer skills for machine interfaces and documentation

Strong attendance and reliability

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
